What makes good salespeople stand out?

 

1 – Be authentic

Authenticity is hard to describe, but it’s something you feel. It is also one of the essential
attributes for a good salesperson. When a salesperson calls a prospect for a meeting, they
can tell, through the way you talk and your choice of words, whether you are being yourself
or not. No one wants to spend time with someone who is putting up a front.

2 – Stand out with video

Personalised videos for clients are a great way to stand out from the crowd. It doesn’t have
to be a big production – just keep it simple. At the moment, if a salesperson sends a video,
the client will find it hard to resist clicking on it. (This situation may not last forever, so make
use of it while you can!) Just be authentic and genuine and you can make the difference.

3 – Work ethic goes a long way

A solid work ethic also makes great salespeople stand out from the rest. The best
salespeople overcommunicate, they summarise and they do what they say they are going to
do. They are clear and accurate. They follow up. It’s the basics, but you would be surprised
how many people don’t do them.
